holy cow what is going on where you guys live??? here in the chicagoland area you can wear anything you want anywhere you want. no one around here will give you any grief. there are outlaws, black pistons, scorpions, etc... but they are all good guys who dont walk around with that kind of attitude. its not the wild west here. i guess its the mild midwest.

Billshit Rowdy!

I grew up in Chicago. Man, you can be confronted about the color 'Bandana' you're wearing.

Where do you live? No. Michigan Ave

Here is some good reading for those not familiar with mc's. Especially check out the protocol an some of the statements from patchholders. http://www.rcvsmc.net/index.htmlMC... RC... it seems if you put neither on your back, it wouldn't make any difference. I see they say you should NEVER designate a location. But doesn't say you should never designate an internet location. I think someone would have a very hard time laying claim to the great state of roadstarclinic.com

MC: Learn what different parts of our patch represent and what the different color combination of yours and other clubs represent.
RC: A RC patch should never be referred to as colors. RCs should NEVER wear any kind of location banner with their patch and NEVER wear any kind of support patch for any other MC. RC patches are usually bought – not earned.

....so as long as I put "RC" on the back (as in the cola), it's all cool?

Be Careful in Chicago, Last year a friend of mine was pulled over by three nasty looking bikers on the (I94)Dan Ryan express way on his 650 Yamaha, He was wearing leather chaps and a three piece patch on the back of his leather vest from his Railroad riding Club, He was told not to come thru that part of I94 wearing that vest again or else.... just be careful that's all.

Jonathan- make sure you know all the unwritten codes before putting a patch on your back. Make sure "MC" isn't on it. And no rockers. Just sayin'. It's easy, especially when riding in a large group in unfamiliar territory to get into 'situations' with the dominant club. And running with similar patches on your back gets more attention. This past weekend our group got stuck in the "world's longest garage sale" on US 127 in KY. They take that stuff seriously down there- garage sales that stretched for miles on both sides of the road with all the stop-and-go traffic. We turned into a tavern to cool off, parked in a long line along the building, and just me and a Bikers for Christ M/M (motorcycle ministry) member stayed outside to watch the rides. Within 5 minutes, an advance guard of Iron Horsemen MC (1%'ers) rode in. Shortly there were a dozen more. We were at their hangout parked in their parking. And they were having a benefit in an hour for a member. They were clearly irritated that we were in their parking places, and inspected each bike thoroughly. Several members of our group are Black Pistons MC members (1%) and had stickers/coozies on their bike. The Iron Horsemen are apparently affiliated with the HA. It was very tense for awhile, but Robb, my M/M fellow rider knew the Iron Horsemen (he had done some weddings and funerals for them) and smoothed things over by dropping names. We eventually got invited to stay for the benefit and help dunk strippers in the dunk tank, but we declined as we had 150 miles to go. Also declined on buying their support t-shirts but some guys did buy raffle tickets. Any attitude by any of our group, or the wrong patches on jackets would have resulted in "Get your f'ing bikes out of our spots NOW!", and these guys certainly could have backed it up. I was glad to get back on the road, and the leader just asked us to let him know the next time so they could make us their guests on our way through....
John Scribner

1%'ers with "stickers and coozies". awesome i wonder if they have fingerpainting at the clubhouse. good job standing your ground. its public parking, not private.

The 1% MCs do have alot of control in many areas. Out here in Corn Country things used to be a little different. This story has been told to me by several unrelated people, so there might be a grain of truth in it.

In the late 60's to early 70's, a group of HA came into the area (Southern Indiana). They rented an old farm house out on one of the many rural gravel roads. It was an old 2 story house and the sleeping quarters were upstairs with the bikes parked in the living room downstairs.

One of the local farm boys, who was "not completely right", happened to drive by the farm house and drew the attention of the members there. They beat him down pretty good and told him not to come in the area again. A short time later (days-weeks? I don't know), someone poured gasoline on the porches and around the house and lit a match. Back then, LEO would sometimes just look the other way. Anyway, with burned up bikes in tow, the members left town.

Hey, if you put seafoam in it, you'll have to do something with "Ultimate Seats" and "darkside tires" too! Your patch is going to be HUGE!
